Raised in Alaska I spent most of my life in the outdoors. Living and surviving in the wilderness was common place to me. I have always loved the outdoors and thrived every minute in participating or competing in various sports.
After moving to Maui I opened a fitness studio, Maui Fitness Plus. Then became very involved extending my fitness levels to excelling in many competitive sports. I started training for the triathalons, duathilons, various community fundraising runs. Coming to a highlight in my fitness career of winning Ms. NPC Hawaiian Islands Fitness Competion.
Now as a long time resident of Maui, I have witnessed an incredible amount of changes in our community. I have seen the need for recreation in Kihei area and possessed a strong desire to create sports and activities to enhance the growth of the community.
I am lead by the opportunities I have worked toward, experienced and succeeded. My drive as a business owner, a community activist and health enhancement therapist/personal trainer and mother are each an example of my commitment to life.
There were many hours spent with family and friends transforming Kalama Park into a user friendly area where acitivities such as volleyball, softball, skateboarding, inline skating, canoeing for the youth have been highly successful and is a showcase for other parks and playgrounds in Maui County.
As one of the owner-builders of the Flowrider (Da Rush) seemed like the perfect extension for kids and adults young and old to take advantage of this up coming sport and create another acitivity for the Kihei area. It is my deep commitment to give back to the community and preserve the culture and environment that we should all enjoy and call home.
