Da Rush -----Da Rush, FlowRider, is a new emergine concept which is a growing attraction all around the world.
We are now excited to offer unique, fun, cultural and challenging new sport here on Maui.
The He’s Nalu (The wave) is an ancient Hawaiian sport reserved for the Ali’i(Kings) to show there skill of surfing on long surf boards made of Koa, a very hard Hawaiian wood.
The sport caught on after the missionaries who first visited Hawaii in the early 1800’s.
Da Rush has brought this sport on land to enhance the experience of the ocean and provide the continues wave day and night under the Hawaiian Skis.
People young and old are enjoying the thrill of this new sport to add to the other activities that afforded in the Kalama Park area.
Kalama (the torch)Park, a place filled lots of fun activities ranging from softball, volleyball, canoeing, along with a skateboarding and an inline hockey rink located in the beautiful coast of Kihei.

WHERE THE SURF IS ALWAYS UP

The Kihei community was once a very small village and people use to live on farming and the ocean for their subsistence. There were several large loko I’a (fishponds) along the Kihei Coast and every winter, the whales migrated to the warm waters of Kihei to breed and give birth. There was only one road that leads into Kihei and there were no hotels on the South shore of Maui. The biggest activities were surfing in the Kalama Park area and canoe paddling along the south shore area. The beaches were accessible all along the coast down to the Makena area of One Loa (big Beach). The uplands of Wailea and Makena consisted of cattle ranches and old lava flows.
Today, the Kihei area is a bustling community with condominiums lining the coastline, shopping malls along the entire length of South Kihei Road into the Wailea Area There is a new Piilani Highway that runs mauka (above) the coast line which starts from the entrance into Kihei and ends at Wailea with plans to continue into Makena.
Luxury Hotels line the Kihei coast all the way to Makena. In the area of Da Rush is the hub of Kihei with all the activities that occur and a perfect fit for the FlowRider which is an added attraction for young and old alike.
